How do I grow my church congregation without gimmicks and spending a fortune on youth workers, outreach programmes…
There is no need to desperately import programmes but value and honour the people in your existing church –
bless them, encourage them and empower them.
This is a Spirit led, organic model for growth which appreciates and empowers the faithful body of believers in your church and leads them on a spiral journey through different phases of faith development, supported by the core functions of the church, the presence of Christ and empowered by the dunamis or power of the Holy Spirit.

The Journey of an Individual
Individuals generally move through the following stages:
•Belonging: The initial stage where individuals first connect with the community and feel a sense of belonging before committing to faith or doctrine.
•Believing: As they engage with the community and its activities, they begin to develop personal beliefs and faith.
•Baptising (or Becoming): The stages in the journey, where they formally commit to their faith through baptism and become fully integrated members.
•
The Role of the Church Community
The church community (the Church Family with Christ at the centre) actively engages in several continuous processes that facilitate this movement:
•Worship: Central to the community life, providing a shared spiritual experience.
•Growth: Involves both numerical growth of the community and spiritual growth of individuals. Reaching out into the community
•Mission: The outreach to the wider community (Mission Community/Parish) which initiates the “Belonging” phase.
People are constantly moving through these stages towards acceptance and wholeness in the church family and with Christ at the centre, growing internally and externally as they reach out and draw closer to God – This is a constant cycle not a static transition.
The phases move both inwards and outwards in a spiral, indicating ongoing spiritual progression towards deepening in faith and the continuous nature of the church’s outgoing work into the wider world.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
